Top 100 – Back Again!13 Jan

top100_2011_rnl_cover_bder

Every year, it gets bigger and better.

The 2011 Top 100 Canadian Infrastructure Projects report is the biggest we’ve ever made. Heck, the Top 100 is a whopping, 60-page monster of a supplement — making this (when combined with our January/February issue) the fattest issue of ReNew Canada ever. A job well done by our team of researchers and editors – take a bow, guys and girls.

Check out some of our early buzz at…

We also took this opportunity to do a minor overhaul of the website. The biggest new addition is the Top 100 Map, powered by ESRI. It’s the next step from the Google map we introduced last year. This map is faster and loaded with a lot more content. Click the link and check it out.

Announcing Water’s Next11 Jan

WATERS_NEXT_2011_TWIT_border

Actual Media is proud to announce the launch of Water’s Next, a new supplement to Water Canada. Water’s Next celebrates the abundance of talent in Canada’s water sector. From August to October, we took open submissions to find the industry’s best people, businesses, innovations and projects. Our 22-member jury team looked at all the submissions and came up with this year’s list of nominees.

You can find Water’s Next in Water Canada’s January/February issue, which should be on desks and select newsstands right now.

Actual Media would like to thank the Ontario Media Development Corporation for its support of Water’s Next.

Actual Takes on Social Media11 Jun

Miles_RIC

If you’re in a reading mood, which clearly you are because you’re reading this, go check out the RIC Centre’s blog for a new post from our very own Miles Baker. It’s about some very basic things you can and should be doing with social media websites.

Also, last April, Miles spoke at the RIC Centre’s breakfast seminar series, Growing Your Business. The morning’s session was on “Optimizing Your Web Presence” and Miles talked about very specific ways small companies and start ups can use social media. RIC has posted video highlights of Miles’ talk on You Tube.

Tweet about it if you like.
