Actual Media is working with our partners at the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN) to present a virtual edition of the Brownie Awards.
Last year’s gala event brought together close to 300 industry leaders in celebration of the greatest achievements in Canadian brownfield rehabilitation and remediation. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to welcome the industry to an in-person presentation, instead welcoming everyone online for a virtual edition of the awards gala.
The event will be held on the same date, Tuesday, November 24th, however the presentation will be shifted from the evening to the afternoon. The e-gala will begin at 3:00pm EST and run for approximately two hours. The event will include presentation of all ten awards live, as well as a fully-interactive panel discussion.
The panel discussion, Celebrating Brownfields – Removing the Stigma from Vital Urban Redevelopment, will engage a national conversation on the stigma that still exists around the use of the term brownfield, and what can be done to overcome this. Government officials at all levels will be engaged as part of the conversation, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the live discussion.
Keeping in line with the in-person event, details on the keynote presentation will be announced in early October, with an announcement of this year’s award finalists to follow in early November.
Tickets for the 2020 Brownie Awards e-gala are available for $55 each (includes HST). For more information, or to purchase your tickets, visit: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/brownieawards2020/register
