Actual Media Welcomes Simran Chattha, Promotes Andrew Macklin

On January 2nd, the team at Actual Media was pleased to welcome Simran Chattha as the company’s new associate editor.

Chattha comes to Actual Media from WaterTAP, where she served as the organization’s Content Writer and Strategist. Before joining WaterTAP, she held research, communications and engagement roles with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA).

At Actual Media, Chattha will be responsible for editorial duties on both Water Canada and ReNew Canada magazines, as well as their associated events, including the Canadian Water Summit and the Top100 Projects Key Players and Owners Dinner. She will play an integral role in fulfilling the editorial mandate and communications objectives of the company, and will use her research and communications expertise on new products and initiatives that will provide continued quality editorial content and channels for our readers and visitors – in print and online.

Andrew Macklin, who had previously served as the editor of ReNew Canada and associate editor of Water Canada, has been promoted to the position of editorial director for Actual Media. In his new role, Macklin will serve as managing editor of both ReNew Canada and Water Canada, and be responsible for the planning and execution of content for both brands and related digital platforms. He will also be responsible for strategic content development for ReNew Canada’s and Water Canada’s events and agency clients.

Along with Content and Marketing Manager Todd Westcott, the editorial team at Actual Media  is now structured to best meet the growing editorial needs of Canada’s infrastructure, water and environment industries.
